Where’s a good cop, when you need one?
So I’ve had this idea for a movie but have hit a brick wall in development. The plan is to make a short “cop movie” where a bunch of cops talk to each other on their radios. The thought is that all of these cops use their “cop lingo” like, “I have a 217 in my sights at the corner of 5th and Adams,” or, “I need a 57 as soon as possible,” or, “we have a 819 developing over here.” Then I’d put subtitles to the whole thing. The catch would be that the subtitles would be wildly inappropriate (what, you didn’t know that a ‘217′ is a ’sexy eight-year-old boy’?).
The problem is, I don’t know how to go about making this. I can’t picture any cops being really cooperative and I don’t want to rip off other people’s cop movie footage.
Any ideas? copmovie@yankeetag.com
